Brigitte hails from the East Coast, and has recently joined the Marine Chiropractic and Wellness team. Her friendly and positive attitude is as infectious as her laugh. In her spare time, she geeks out on yoga, tends her garden and plays with her dog, Cedar.
She started her educational path in 2006, when she studied Shiatsu, Thai Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology and Hot Stone Massage at WCCMT. This led her to VCMT where she continued her studies to become a Registered Massage Therapist in 2010. She graduated from Vancouver College of Massage Therapy. Since this time, she has taken particular interest in postural re-alignment facilitated by Myofascial Manipulation. This technique connects the whole body and brings awareness to patterns of tension. This is a slow, yet deep technique that discovers the source of dysfunction and encourages symptoms to take a hike! This technique blends well will Trigger Point Release, Swedish massage and active/passive stretching.
She traveled to Guatemala to receive her Yoga Teacher certification in 2014. This knowledge trickles down into her treatment and patient care. She is fascinated by the mind/body connection and how it pertains to wellbeing.
Her approach, and patient care encourages the body to relax and release. Brigitte’s aim is to realign and balance the body. This results in helping with Headaches, Jaw pain, Neck and Shoulder Tension, Lower Back and S.I. Joint dysfunction.
She looks forward to being an active part of the wellness community in Powell River, and is accepting new patients.
